The current crisis in Israel and Gaza has escalated Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and the pre-existing mental health crisis within our local, national, and global communities, and accessible, timely mental healthcare is more critical than ever. In an effort to provide immediate support, WCF has launched our "Crisis Counseling Initiative" to provide pro-bono counseling to anyone seeking guidance, comfort, and a safe space to process current events and their reverberating effects in our community and around the world. To date, we have already begun providing crisis support to 15 individuals and families.
Toward this end, and in the spirit of the giving season, we have launched our WCF fall fundraiser, with the goal of raising $25,000 to provide culturally-responsive, trauma-informed care to 100 individuals and families in crisis over the next few months. This fundraiser is a significant step towards ensuring the sustainability and impact of WCF’s CCI, and will culminate in the launch of our brand new website, featuring a vast hub of free education and resources on January 2, 2024.
